Green Tea Noodle Soup - Slurp, Slurp, Slurp Away!

This delicious and easy noodle soup will keep you slurping for more 

When the weather is cold and breezy outside, you want to feel all warm and cozy inside. Cold winter evenings make you want to cuddle in a thick blanket and catch up on your favourite sitcom while sipping on a bowlful of delicious soup. But winters can also make you very lazy; you don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking as well. So here we have for you, a simple, easy-to-make, soup recipe with the added goodness of green tea.

Given its simple taste and added health quotient of green tea, this soup can also serve as a hearty winter meal. Bye, bye winter chills! Follow the below recipe and prepare yourself a bowl of warm and slurpy noodle soup.

Serves: 2




1 litre water

4 bags Lipton Green Tea

5g or 1 tbsp garlic (crushed)

2g or 1 tsp ginger (grated)

1 tbsp rice wine vinegar

1 tbsp soy sauce

300g carrot (shredded)

300g cabbage (cut into short thin strips)

200g chopped spring onion (whites and greens)

2 packets of instant noodles

10 grams fresh finely chopped coriander

1 tbsp Olive Oil


For extra twists:

Dash of schezwan sauce

Chopped peanuts for extra crunch (those allergic to peanuts please avoid this step)



      In a large pot, heat the oil. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté it till fragrant. Be sure not to burn the garlic as it will change the flavour.

      Now add water, tea bags, soy sauce, vinegar and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 4 - 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags.

     Add in carrots, cabbage, julienned green onions and instant noodles. Cook for about 2 - 3 minutes, or until noodles have softened.

    Garnish with chopped green onions, coriander and a dash of schezwan sauce if desired. Sprinkle some chopped peanuts for extra crunch.

      Your bowl of green tea noodle soup is ready to be served
